Future of energy supply
We are facing a fundamental change in our energy supply: we must reduce our greenhouse gas emissions to zero net no later than by the middle of this century in order to comply with the Paris Climate Agreement.
Swissolar advocates a speedy, high-quality development of solar energy in Switzerland. We currently focus on the following themes.
Swissolar advocates a strong deployment of solar energy in Switzerland, whether as solar thermal for domestic warm water preparation and heating, as solar power, or by applying the principles of solar construction. The association represents this goal vis-à-vis politics, the public and other organisations and stakeholders.

In Switzerland, Pronovo is in charge of promoting photovoltaics on a federal level. Some cantons, towns and energy suppliers have additional subsidy programmes.
PV installations are promoted via the non-recurring remuneration (NRR) that covers up to 30% of the capital costs relevant when commissioning a reference system. Roof-top solar power is almost always profitable, since its prices are lower than those of public-grid electricity.

Together with partners, Swissolar organises one annual Congress for photovoltaics, solar heat and solar construction respectively. Attending these events is a must for all experts and stakeholders who want to stay abreast of developments.
