Solar cells convert the sun’s radiation into electric energy – with no waste, no noise nor exhaust gases. The technology used is called photovoltaics. 

Solar power (PV) is growing worldwide. More and more countries deploy the clean power provided by the sun. The annual addition of solar power is roughly equivalent to the electricity produced by 7 nuclear plants the size of Leibstadt. While Switzerland has made slower progress than its neighbours so far, the national PV industry already plays an important part in Swiss economy, since it provides approximately 5500 jobs and generates CHF 740 million in annual sales.
